Small, compact, yellow flowers on slender flower-stalks. Trifoliate alternate leaves. Toothed / untoothed leaflets with mucronate (pointed) tip. Kidney-shaped black seedpods. More / less hairy, scrambling plant. Height: To 75cm.

Well-drained calcareous soils. Roadsides, grassland, walls, waste ground.
