Lesser Trefoil Globular heads of small, pale yellow flowers, 10-15 in each head. Brown when fruiting. Three triangular-oval leaflets, very small-toothed, stalked central leaflet. Stem and leaves purple-tinged as plant ages. Nearly hairless. Semi-erect or prostrate, to 40cm. Worn as Shamrock on St Patricks Day. Abundant on dry roadsides, fields, waste ground, dunes.
