Hop Trefoil Globular yellow flower-heads, 9-12mm across, 20+ flowers in each head. Turning brown in fruit. Single seeds. Trifoliate leaflets, central leaflet with clearly longer stalk. More/less hairy. Stems semi-erect to procumbent, branched. To 40cm. Locally frequent in south half of Ireland, rare in north. Dry banks, roadsides, grassland, waste ground. Similar: Lesser Trefoil, T. dubium and Black Medick, Medicago lupulina |
