Flowering May-July. Semi-evergreen shrub. Garden escape.

Pairs of yellow-white flowers in leaf-axils. Corolla hairy on outside. Berry ripening to black. Two leaf-like bracts at base of each pair of flowers. Leaves semi-evergreen, ovate to oblong. Twining stems, woody with age. To 5m+.

Infrequently recorded garden escape or relic of cultivation.
