Flowering: July-October. Evergreen shrub. Garden escape. Introduced.

Racemes of rich violet-blue flowers. Fertile hybrid, seeds freely. Evergreen oval leaves, glossy dark-green, 4-7cm long. Hairless. Forms rounded bush. Less frost-tender than many Hebes. Height: 1-2 m.

Irish coasts on cliffs, walls, dunes, wasteground. Widely planted, and locally naturalised garden escape. Increasing.
