Small bright-blue flowers with leaf-like bracts. Occasionally whitish.
Linear-lanceolate leaves, toothed, wavy-edged. Stalked lower leaves.
Upper leaves half-clasping stems. Erect, bristly plant. Height: 15-40cm.

Dry soils, usually coastal. Sandy heaths, arable land, waste ground.
Most frequent E Ireland. Decreasing.
