Flowering time: May-September. Usually perennial. Probably introduced.

White flowers with 5 deeply divided petals. Dioecious, male flowers have 10 stamens, female have 5 styles. Sticky-hairy leaves, opposite, elliptical-lanceolate. Seed capsules with erect teeth (the capsules of Red Campion curve back). Height: 30-100cm. Usually perennial, sometimes annual or biennial.

Waste ground, arable land, roadsides, prefers rich, well-drained ground.
