Flowering: March-May. Evergreen sub-shrub. Introduced. Garden escape.

Blue flowers, solitary, 5-petalled. Smaller than those of Greater Periwinkle.
Leaves in pairs, short-stalked, shiny green, oval. Hairless leaf margins.
Prostrate growth habit, rooting stems. Height: to 20cm.

Most frequently found in woods, also hedge banks, roadsides. Garden escape, discard or relic of cultivation.

Similar: Greater Periwinkle, V. major.
Larger, flowers April-May. Introduced.
