Golden yellow flowers, five-petalled, solitary. Double forms can occur.
Basal leaves in 3 divided segments. Stem with rooting runners. Height to 60cm.
Below right: Double-flowered form: R. repens var. degeneratus.

Very common, widespread.

Similar: Small-flowered Buttercup, R. parviflorus. Small flowers, prominent sepals. Rare, calcareous ground.
