Small-flowered Buttercup Small pale-yellow flowers, down-turned sepals. Furrowed flower stalks. Spiny fruit. Lower leaves 3-5 lobed, toothed, hairy. Upper leaves simple or oblong-lobed. Low spreading growth habitat. Inconspicuous plant. Height: To 20cm. Usually coastal. Dry, disturbed ground, neutral or calcareous soils. Dry banks, roadsides, cliff edges, waste and cultivated ground. Rare casual, decreasing. Only S and E Ireland and on Aran Isles. |
