Flowers usually bright blue, can be pink or white. Main raceme usually with more than 10 flowers. Inner sepals slightly shorter than corolla, well-branched veins. Stalkless oval-elliptical leaves, all alternate. Upper leaves narrowest.
Erect or straggling stems, woody at base. Height: To 30cm

Heaths, dunes, short grassland. Acid or calcareous soils.
