Flowering time: May-September. Perennial. Native.

Deep blue flowers, but they can also be mauve, pink or white. Usually less than 10 on main stem. Sepals more/less acute. Narrow hairless leaves, stalkless. Some lower stem leaves opposite. Stems not or only slightly woody at base. 5-20 cm.

Locally abundant on acid heaths, grassland.

Similar: Common Milkwort, P. vulgaris. All leaves alternate.
Acidic or calcareous ground.
