Flowering time: June-September. Perennial. Native.

Deep purple-pink flowers, 2cm diameter, notched petals. 4-lobed stigma. Stalkless leaves, lanceolate, mostly opposite. Stout erect stems. Whole plant is downy-hairy. Height: 80-150 cm.

Frequent. Damp wasteland, ditches, river banks. Occasionally on drier ground.

Similar: Hoary Willowherb, E. parviflorum.
Only 20-80cm tall. Smaller flowers. Native.
