Hedge Bindweed Large white flowers. Bracteoles longer than calyx, not overlapping. Flower stalks (pedicels) as long or longer than leaf stalks. Leaves broad-triangular, sagittate base. Hairless. Height/spread: To 3m Very common, widespread in hedges, woods, gardens and on waste ground. C. sepium ssp. roseata: Pink flowers, white-striped. Shorter, slightly hairy stems, stalks. W Ireland, local near coast. Also found Waterford, Wexford. Similar: Large Bindweed, Calystegia silvatica. |
