Flowering June - August. Perennial. Native.

Flowers in dense terminal, flat-topped umbels with bristle-like bracts and bracteoles. Ribbed, cylindrical fruit with swollen corky bases. Lower leavers twice-pinnate, linear upper leaves. Solid, grooved stems, roots with rounded tubers. Hairless. Height 30-80cm.

Damp ground near coasts. Rare in Ireland, Co's Clare, Wexford. Formerly found at Trabolgan, Co. Cork
