Hemlock Water-dropwort Oenanthe crocata Dáthabha bán Family: Apiaceae Flowering time: June-July. Perennial. Native. Large terminal umbels of white or greenish-white flowers, 15-25 rays. Fairly short calyx teeth. Bracts and bracteoles present. Large triangular leaves, 3x pinnate. Leaflets oblong-oval, toothed or lobed. Leaf stalks sheathing stems. Stout hairless stems are hollow, grooved. Height: To 150cm. Sap from roots turns yellow when exposed to air. Very poisonous plant. Frequent except in western and central Ireland. Riversides, marshes, wet ditches, woods, waterside fields.
