Dense clusters of flowerheads with linear, five-rowed, keeled bracts.
Leaves wavy-edged, white-woolly, linear, without mucronate point at tips.
Stems +/- branched at base. Height 15-30cm.

Dry, sandy, +/- acidic grasslands, roadsides, arable and waste ground.
