Small yellow flowers with erect buds. Petals often reddish underneath.
Hairless glossy leaves, basal leaves pinnate with narrow toothed lobes.
Upper leaves stalkless, smaller,clasping stems, lanceolate. Height: 20-90 cm

Very common except on mountains. Prefers acidic poor, dry soil.

Similar: Beaked Hawksbeard, C. vesicaria.
