Lesser Water-plantain Terminal umbel of long-stalked, three-petalled, pale-pink or whitish flowers. Carpels form crowded, globular head. Long-stalked linear-lanceolate leaves, smelling of coriander when crushed. Submerged strap-like leaves and stolons often present. Erect growth, sometimes rooting at nodes, 5-20cm tall. Found at the edge of +/- calcareous or brackish water. Widespread but most frequent in central and western Ireland. Similar: Water-plantain |
