Flowering May to July. Winter annual. Native.

Unstalked white to pale pinkish flowers with bell-shaped calyx tubes and outward-curving sepal-teeth. Obvate leaflets, downy on both sides, veins ccurving backwards. Procumbent or erect growth habit.

Rare, usually coastal, E and SE Ireland on thin infertile sandy or gravelly ground. Also found on parched coastal grassland.
