Flowering June-August. Biennial / perennial. Probably introduced.

Loose elongated racemes of yellow flowers. The standard, wings and keel are more/less equal in length. Fruits are black when ripe, ridged, more/less hairy. Usually 2-seeded. Strong erect growth, height to 1.5m.

Disturbed ground, roadsides, waste ground, grassland, railway banks. Frequent in parts of County Dublin, an occasional casual elsewhere in Ireland.
