Purple Glasswort Very variable in colour and habitat, difficult to distinguish from S. europaea. Flowers in threes. Stems knobbly, dark-green becoming deep reddish-purple. Single or much-branched. Erect or procumbent growth, to 40cm. Coastal, middle and upper zones of salt-marshes. Mainly S, SE Ireland. Identified by Paul Green Glassworts, Salicornia agg. |
