American Blue-eyed-grass
Sisyrinchium montanum

Flowering June-September. Perennial. Garden escape. Introduced.

Blue flowers with yellow centres, 6-petalled. Self-seeds freely. Grass-like leaves, fine-pointed, evergreen in mild winters. Height 10-15cm. Self-sown seedlings are hardier than parent, and more drought-tolerant.

In gardens grows in well-drained light soil in full sun, can self-seed and become naturalised in rough grassland.
