Small-leaved Sweet-briar

Flowering June-July. Deciduous shrub. Native.

White flowers on smooth stalks. Ripe hips are hairless with flat discs and reflexed sepals, not persisting. Many glands beneath leaves. Leaflets gradually narrowing to base. Erect growth, usually 1-1.5m.

Calcareous soils, in hedges and scrub. Rare, mainly recorded from central Ireland, also Co. Cork and Co. Waterford.
