Flowering June-July. Deciduous shrub. Garden escape. Introduced.

White flowers with narrow petals, usually in clusters of 8-10. Pedicels with
glandular hairs. Small hips with strongly reflexed sepals. Leaves with 7-9 leaflets, lighter-green beneath, sometimes pubescent. Strong scrambling growth to 5m.

Grown in gardens and used as rootstock for garden roses. Rarely recorded from the wild, Co's Waterford, Tyrone, Antrim.
