Flowering July-September. Annual. Native.

Ray-less yellow flower-heads with black-streaked, sepal-like inner bracts.
Outer bracts long, leaf-like. Opposite, stalked lower leaves, many usually
with 1-2 pairs of lobes. Hairless plant with stout erect stems. Height to 70cm.

Nutrient-rich gravel or mud by ponds, rivers, marshes.
