Family: Ranunculaceae

Flowering July-September. Annual. Garden escape. Introduced.

Flowers with 5-10 coloured sepals and minute petals at base of stamens.
Sepals usually sky-blue, can also be pink, white or pale purple. Surrounded by prominent lacy bracts. Large inflated seed capsule, self-seeds freely. The leaves are very finely cut. Height to 45cm. Many garden cultivars available.

Grows on well-drained light soils. Prefers full sun. Occasional garden escape.
