Flowering late May-July. Perennial. Native.

7-12 largish flowers, pink to rose-purplish, lip well marked with loops and dots. Long, pointed lateral sepals. Lip 3-lobed, central lobe narrow, projecting, sometimes down-turned. The long bracts and upper stem usually purple-tinged.
Leaves at least 7x long as wide, usually un-spotted. Slender stem, sometimes flexuous. Height: 10-35cm. (Irish plants can be more robust than UK plants)

Only found Ireland and Britain. Base-rich bogs, fens, dune-slacks. Rare, under-recorded in Ireland. ID confirmed by Ian Denholm.
