Heath Pearlwort Small 5-petalled white flowers on erect, leafless stalks. Petals shorter than or as long as sepals. 10 stamens. Sepals glandular-hairy or hairless (var. glabrata). Narrow, bristle-tipped leaves. Non-flowering central leaf rosette, numerous prostrate, rooting stems to 10cm long. Dry, open ground, usually on sand, gravel or shallow peaty soils. Coastal heaths, dry pastures, roadsides. Occasional near N, W and SW coasts. Decreasing. Similar: Procumbent Pearlwort |
