Flowering April-June. Bulbous perennial. Native / introduced.

Lax umbels of 2-6 bell-shaped flowers on slender stalks. Green spot near tip of tepals. 2-winged flower stalks become vertical as seeds ripen. Leaves are bright green and strap-like. Clump-forming. Height: 30-60cm.

Leucojum aestivum ssp. aestivum is native, ssp. pulchellum is introduced.
Native only in Limerick, Clare, Wexford. An introduced garden escape or discard elsewhere in Ireland. Damp meadows, marshy ground.
