Summer Snowflake Lax umbels of 2-6 bell-shaped flowers on slender stalks. Green spot near tip of tepals. 2-winged flower stalks become vertical as seeds ripen. Leaves are bright green and strap-like. Clump-forming. Height: 30-60cm. Leucojum aestivum ssp. aestivum is native, ssp. pulchellum is introduced. Native only in Limerick, Clare, Wexford. An introduced garden escape or discard elsewhere in Ireland. Damp meadows, marshy ground. Identified by Paul Green
