Flowering: Mid to late spring. Deciduous shrub. Garden escape.

Solitary yellow flowers 2.5-5cm across on lateral branches.
Double form (flore pleno) is the most frequent. Rarely sets seed.
Coarse-toothed leaves, ovate to lanceolate, bright green.
Erect green stems, to 2.5m. Suckers freely, can be invasive.

Occasional in the wild, usually garden discard or relic of cultivation.
Introduced.
