Yellow-flowered Strawberry

Flowering: May-October. Evergreen perennial. Introduced. Garden escape.

Solitary yellow flowers, 5 petals. Surrounded by 3-toothed epicalyx-segments,
larger than sepals. Fruit is a spongy red berry, edible but tasteless.
Evergreen leaves, 3-lobed, rough-veined underneath, toothed.
Self-fertile. Creeping stolons, rooting at nodes. Spreads rapidly to 1m+.

Grows in sun or partial shade. Originally from SE Asia, sometimes sold as a
garden plant. Infrequent garden escape.
