Snowdrop Solitary nodding white flowers, inverted v-shaped green patches on inner tepals. Two or three narrow flat green leaves are produced by each bulb. Poor seed production but can form large clumps by bulb division. Prefers light shade in humus-rich deciduous woodland and river banks. Occasional garden escape or relic of cultivation, mainly recorded from NE Ireland. Sometimes found naturalised in churchyards or near habitation. |
