Flowering: Early summer. Evergreen perennial. Introduced. Garden escape.

Round heads of petal-less flowers followed by burrs with 2 barbed spines.
Bright-green leaves with (usually) 9 leaflets, narrow oblong-oval.
Stems woody at base, hairy. Prostrate, rooting, mat-forming.

Occasional garden escape. Found in woodland and on paths.
Can be invasive.
