Solitary large pink-purple flowers, orange berries.
Trifoliate leaves with oval, toothed leaflets.
Erect stems, weakly spined below. Vigorous, suckering shrub,
often forming large thickets. Height: To 2m.

Woods, hedgerows, roadsides. Established garden escape.
Most frequent in Northern Ireland.
