Mountain Everlasting

Flowering time: May-July. Perennial. Native.

Clusters of 2-8 flowerheads, male with white flower-bracts, female pink.
Basal leaves are oval/spoon-shaped, hairless above, white-downy beneath.
Stem leaves narrow, pointed. Creeping woody stem, leafy runners. Mat-forming growth habit. Height: Flower stems 5-20cm.

Base rich or calcareous grassland, heaths, mountain ledges.
Very local distribution - abundant in parts of W and centre, but very rare
elsewhere in Ireland.
