Clusters of scented, lipped pink-purple flowers, darker buds.
Leaves more/less toothed, oval, stalked, slightly hairy.
Erect stems. Whole plant is aromatic. Height: 30-60cm.

Found on calcareous soils. Dry, infertile grassland, scrub, quarries,
roadsides. Most frequent S, E, central Ireland. Native but
probably introduced in N.
