Henbane Irregularly trumpet-shaped creamy-yellow flower with dark purple-brown veins. Basal rosette. Leaves usually lobed, coarse-toothed. Stem leaves clasping. Erect plant, branched/unbranched. Sticky-hairy. Foetid smell. Height: 40-80cm. Very poisonous! Dry, bare, calcareous ground. Mainly coastal, shingle, sandy ground. Occasional inland, waste ground, building sites. Rare, mainly E, scattered distribution elsewhere. Vulnerable species. |
