Flowering: July-August. Perennial. Introduced. Garden escape.

Stemmed panicles of brownish/red and yellow flowers with protruding
stamens. Dark-brown seed capsules.
Large fans of tough, leathery, sword-shaped leaves with central fold.
Height: To 4m when flowering.

Occasional garden escape. Mainly coastal, SW and W Ireland.
