Flowering: March-November. Annual. Possibly introduced.

Long-stalked deep blue flowers with white eye. Pointed, oval sepals. 2-lobed seed capsule with more/less parallel lobes. Dull greyish-green leaves, even-toothed. Lower leaves wider than long. Hairy. Usually self-pollinated. Height: 10-20cm.

Disturbed and cultivated ground, arable, gardens. Scattered distribution in Ireland.
