Flowering: June-August. Semi-parasitic annual. Native.

Lower lip white/lilac, upper lip lilac/purple. Seed capsule equal in length to calyx. Upper plant is erect, glandular-hairy, 0-5 pairs branches. Leaves usually pale-green, blunt-toothed. Very variable, frequent hybridisation and distinctive variants. Photographs: Large-flowered variant of E. arctica.
