Flowering time: June-October. Parasitic annual climber. Native.

Dense clusters of very small pinkish-white flowers, 5-petalled with stamens projecting. Mass of twining red stems, leaves reduced to tiny scales. No green chlorophyll produced, parasitic on heather, gorse, birds-foot-trefoil, clovers.

Sparse coastal distribution on heaths, grassland, dunes. Declining.
