Common Knapweed, radiate form
Centaurea nigra var. radiata

This form of Common Knapweed has enlarged outer florets.
Involucral bracts blackish-brown. Lower leaves not or slightly pinnate.
Only found in a few local populations.


Can be confused with Greater Knapweed, C. scabiosa but the leaves of Greater Knapweed are deeply pinnate. Involucral bracts are green, apex blackish, toothed.
