Giant Knotweed

Flowering: August-September. Perennial. Introduced. Garden escape.

Panicles of greenish-white flowers, but infrequently flowering.
Very large leaves, heart-shaped, pointed. Very stout reddish-brown stems.
Height: To 3 m+. Taller but less vigorous than Japanese Knotweed.

Waste ground, roadsides, river banks. Garden escape.
Less widespread than Japanese Knotweed with which it can hybridise.
