Rough Hawkbit Solitary golden-yellow flowers. Florets without scales, much longer than hairy bracts. Outer rays reddish below. Seeds with feathered and simple hairs. Flower-stems unbranched, leafless. Basal rosette of wavy-toothed leaves. Leaves and stems very hairy, forked hairs. Very variable. Height: To 60 cm. Well-drained neutral or calcareous grassland, roadsides, quarries. Most frequent central Ireland. Virtually absent in N. Identification uncertain. |
