Common Mouse-ear
Cerastium fontanum spp. holosteoides

Family: Caryophyllaceae

A sub-species of Common Mouse-ear, C. fontanum. Native.

Larger flowers, slightly longer calyx (5-8mm) and seed capsules (8-16mm).
Upper leaves narrower than ssp. vulgare. Stems and leaves less pubescent.
Leaves appear shiny as they are hairless on upper sides but there are hairs
on the leaf margins and underneath the midrib.

Mainly found on wet ground and mountain flushes.
