Small pale-pink or white flowers with club-shaped stigma.
Narrow lanceolate leaves, pointed, un-toothed and un-stalked. Stems without ridges, cylindrical. Slender erect plant with underground stolons. Height: 15-60 cm.

Frequent throughout Ireland on wet, slightly acidic ground.
Marshes, bogs, stream and lake sides.
