Flowering time: April-October. Annual, occasionally biennial.

Umbels of white flowers, unequal petals, distinctive bracteoles. Ridged fruit.
Leaves triangular, 2 or 3 times pinnate, dark-green. Deeply pinnate lanceolate leaflets. Branched leafy hollow stems, finely ridged. Hairless. Height: 20-80 cm.

Grows on waste and cultivated ground, roadsides. Found throughout, but most frequent in E and S Ireland. Possibly introduced.
Poisonous.
