Flowering time: June-October. Perennial. Introduced.

Slender, leafless spikes of small whitish-pink flowers. 5-lobed.
Opposite oblong leaves, no stipules. Lower stalked, pinate. Upper leaves
smaller, entire, stalkless. Square, erect stems, branched near top.
Slender, slightly hairy plant. Height: 30-60 cm.

Occasional in S, rare in N. Prefers bare, well-drained calcareous ground.
Rough grassland, waste ground, roadsides.
