Monkey-flower Two-lipped yellow flowers with small red spots only in throat. Lower lip longer than upper. Flower stalks, calyx are downy. Anthers have pollen, otherwise plant is a hybrid. Leaves opposite, broad-toothed. Many creeping stolons. Height: To 75 cm. Usually near water, stream-sides, water-side fields. Garden escape. Similar: Hybrids with Blood-drop-emlets, M. luteus occur: Hybrid Monkey-flower, M. × robertsii |
